It's A Boy!

We have a new son as of a few hours ago!
From now on and forever more Isaiah Allan is our son.

He is 4 and a half, weighs in heavier than any other "baby" that has joined our family.
He also plays "futball" better than any other kid we have. He is four years old and can do a step over, dribble and fain to kick. It is amazing.

He is cheerful, energetic, shy and a smarty pants.
At times he is painfully soft spoken, and other times the life of the party!

We are SO thankful to God for blessing us with him!

Sheets

We are here.
So is God.
That is my motto.

So you know all those sheets my sweet mother-in-law collected (45 of them). Well half of them made it with us. I filled 2 duffle bags full of them, toddler and baby clothes, powered pedialyte, pacifiers (and adorable clips for them a friend made), bottles, a pair of toddler shoes and some other odds and ends.

Last week we took it all to our little one's baby home.
It is a good home, but newly founded. They are building up everything literally from scratch.

The US coordinator was there. She told us that the night before they had gotten in 4 new babies... putting them at their max capacity. It was a cold night and they didn't have enough sheets for beds. They took adult sheets and cut them in two to make the baby beds with and several adults had to give up their blankets to cover the babies with. It was a hard night. And they have 2 (or more) very sick and malnourished babies right now. Everyone was at a low.

We arrived and we started going through the bags. On top I had last minute thrown in the baby sheets. I didn't think they were needed, but they fit, so I put them in. Guess how many?

Four.

One for each new child in the home.
We (myself) were all dumbfounded.

The coordinator was weeping over those sheets. They needed them SO badly and God knew it. He even put it on my heart to include them in our packing... I could have thrown anything in, but it was those sheets I saw and squished in!

Sheets speak God's love.
I didn't think they were that important, but they are.
They mean a warm, clean bed. A good nights rest and peace of mind.
Who would have thought that?

To the Finish Line!

A local church, Patrick Crossing, has made it their personal mission to help us get our children home!

Their plan?
The River Run for Orphans

Tim and Marci Miller have been selected by Patrick Crossing Church here in Durango to be the focus of their churches race funds. We need runners, walkers, bicyclers, etc... to participate in this years run on behalf of Tim and Marci. You do not need to be a member of Patrick Crossing to run for Tim and Marci, you simply need to be willing to seek sponsorship from your friends and family for the race and collect their support. You will then track these on your pledge sheet and bring them with you on the day of the race.

Please consider helping Tim and Marci as they push for the remaining funds they need to bring their little boy and girl home! They leave on the 2nd of September and are still 7K short of the funds they need.

You can e-mail questions to patrickcrossing@gmail.com or millers4more@yahoo.com
